Knitting is a wonderful, healing, calming craft. Why not take this opportunity to learn? Come sit, relax, and knit with me!

This workshop is for knitters of all levels of experience, from pre-beginners to advanced. If you have never knit before but always wanted to learn, welcome! I’ll teach you! If you’ve knit some and have thought of some new techniques that you’d like to learn, this is a great chance to gain more experience. If you’re working on a project and have questions or have made mistakes, I’ll show you how to fix them. Even if you've just got questions about a pattern and would like some help, you're welcome to come and knit with us!

MATERIAL LIST

(Beginners)

• Please bring yarn and needles of your choice. (Fancy Tiger will have a pop-up yarn shop on-site if you would like to wait to purchase!)

(Open Labbers)

• Bring any projects that you're stuck on, patterns that you need help with, design ideas to hash out...anything that you'd like to work on together.

About Stefanie

STEFANIE JAPEL

I learned to knit from my grandma when I was 8 years old. I’ve grown up wearing her sweaters and borrowing the ones she made for other people. Most of these sweaters are raglans, knit in the round from the top. I continue this sweater-making tradition. I’ve published over 120 knitting patterns, mostly for top-down knits, and am known for my use of vibrant color and my shapely, feminine designs.

My work has appeared in a number of books and publications including Big Girl Knits, Stitch N Bitch Nation, KnitGrrl, Knit Wit, Not Another Teen Knitting Book, Interweave Knits, Knitscene, Knit.1, and Vogue Knitting Magazine.

I’m the author of two knitting books, Fitted Knits and Glam Knits (F+W Media). I’m currently working on my third knitting book, Mother Daughter Knits, with Chronicle Books, to be released in Spring 2012, and a fourth, Top Down Design, to be published by Cooperative Press.
