Sweet Paul Makerie
April 11 & 12, 2015

terrain & the urban corporate campus

Terrain and the Urban Corporate Campus is the home for our new Sweet Paul Makerie. Day 1 will be hosted at terrain. Their inviting, cozy space is full of luscious gardens, stunning greenery and decorated in modern farmhouse style, our favorite! Terrain opened its doors in 2008 on the site of the historic J. Franklin Styer’s Nursery in Glen Mills, PA., and we love how they brilliantly merge house and garden into a celebration of nature, community, seasonality, and self-expression. Their nursery, café, and historic buildings provide quite a unique setting for our Sweet Paul Makerie, with hand-crafted interiors and densely planted gardens that provide an ever-changing backdrop for celebrations throughout the seasons. With a focus on wellness, sustainability and design, terrain is constantly in motion creating a fresh experience for the senses, which in our minds, creates a most perfect space to nurture creativity.

The Navy Yard, where Day 2 will be held, is a dynamic, sustainable urban campus that arose from the remarkable transformation of the former Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, one of the nation’s oldest shipyards. Built from the shell of a dilapidated navy shipyard in Philadelphia, the 100+ year old campus of Urban Outfitters has breathed creative life back into the once industrious building complex with exquisite design elements, fresh plant life throughout the space, and all of the special, thoughtful touches you expect to find when you step into an Anthropologie or terrain store. This magnificent 350,000+ sqft campus, designed by Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, provides an epic backdrop for the URBN brands including Urban Outfitters, Free People, BHLDN, Anthropologie, and terrain, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to host part of our retreat in such a stunning space. {pinch us please!}

eats

Our meals during the retreat will combine some of Sweet Paul’s favorite recipes alongside terrain & URBN’s farm to table cuisine. Using hand-selected local produce, meats, and dairy products, menus will be crafted from the seasonal and sustainable harvests of local, known, and trusted farmers. Terrain and URBN’s talented culinary team will create an experience all on it’s own, with mealtimes ranging from family style gatherings to beautiful buffets to a special sit down dinner. Mealtimes are always a highlight at our retreats, as it’s a special time to get to know the awesome creative community that will be gathered. If you have special dietary requests, all you have to do is say the word. Anything can be accommodated!
