About Melissa

Melissa is an accomplished floral designer, event producer and creative workshop facilitator with a huge heart. She brings this extraordinary combination and her sophisticated, thoughtful design approach to Proper Flower in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.

For the last seven years, she has been an integral part of the renowned Matthew Robbins Design team in New York City, as a floral designer and production manager, producing and designing events around the world. She continues to be part of Matthew’s hand-picked team for special projects and select prestigious events and weddings.

Beyond floral design, Melissa is in the process of writing her first book ~ 365 Days of Parties ~ celebrating the art of the special occasion filled with DIY ideas. She is thrilled to bring her Proper Flower dream to life with her breadth of floral design and event experience, her keen sense of style and the joyful, fresh energy she brings to every project. Melissa couldn’t be happier or more excited to come home and plant new roots in her beloved Charlotte.
