This unique workshop explores the medium of aerosol paint. Learn traditional and non-linear techniques and faux finishes used in the world of special events and equip yourself with knowledge to create fun 2D and 3D works of art or transform everyday objects around your home. This workshop will cover different types of spray paint with nozzle cap options as well as teach several faux finish techniques including natural finishes, abstract paint applications and transparent watercolor effects. Students will create a special, one-of-a-kind piece of custom art.

David Beaupre is a Chicago based artist currently innovating the world of custom art on a local and national level. With a background in sculpture, mixed media and theatrical design he has weaved a career around theatre, television and special events as well as costume elements for national brand promotions. He is inspired by innovative uses of mundane objects, urban architectural explorations and the beautiful decay of natural metals. Moved by passion, dedication and ingenuity, he builds upon his theatrical experience and thrives on risk-taking to create exciting and innovative concepts and techniques and apply them to décor projects around his home.
At Kehoe Designs, he has worked on the production floor, managed the Art Department and served as a Creative Director for over 10 years.
He has over 20 years of experience with theatrical design including sets, props and costumes. Currently in his “free time”, he works closely with his partner creating promotional activation costumes and headpieces for Broadway shows, Cirque du Soleil, as well as other national brands. He has even hosted his own show on the DIY network called “From Junky to Funky” turning trash into treasure.
